Abstract

Placenta accrerta spectrum comprises a group of disorders that are considered a nightmare for both patients and obstetricians. PAS is associated with catastrophic complications and mortality rates. The main treatment is cesarean hysterectomy; however, some obstacles exist in performing this procedure. Patient age, desire for future fertility, and psychological aspects are the main obstacles in the decision-making process. Conservative treatment is not an easy road with roses on its sides; it is associated with many challenges and risks. In this review, we discuss the challenges and risks associated with conservative treatment of PAS.
