Abstract

We present the case of a 58-year-old male with an intestinal obstruction caused by gallstone ileus secondary to a bilioenteric fistula. An exploratory laparotomy was performed, during which the stone was removed via enterolithotomy, followed by a two-layer jejunal closure. The procedure proceeded without complications, and the patient experienced a satisfactory recovery, being discharged on postoperative day six. A second-stage procedure for cholecystectomy and definitive repair of the bilioenteric fistula is planned.
