In the ongoing conversation about the future of oral healthcare, periodontal education remains both critically important and chronically undervalued. While dental technology advances at breakneck speed and cosmetic dentistry captures public imagination, the foundational science of periodontal health—disease prevention, early detection, and patient-centered management—too often sits in the background. This is a dangerous oversight. It is time for the dental community, educators, and policymakers to place periodontal education at the forefront of public health strategy.
