Professor at the Post-Graduate Pediatric School, University of Cagliari Professor for Specialist Postgraduate Study Program – School of Health Sciences of Dubrovnik International University 2011 Honorary Professor at Public University of Buenos Aires 2012 . Research stages: Clinica Mangiagalli, University of Milan in 1981; Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology Port Royal, Paris, 1983; Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology Queen Charlotte, London in 1987 and 1988. PRESENT POSITION: Since 1982 he is the Head and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Prenatal and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis, Fetal Therapy at the Microcitemico Pediatric Hospital. Currently has one of the largest experiences worldwide in performing Invasive Prenatal Diagnosis Procedures and undoubtedly the widest experience in invasive prenatal diagnosis of beta-thalassemia with more than 8.500 fetal diagnoses and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis. Since 1996 he performs screening for Down Syndrome and other chromosomopathies by ultrasound analysis of Fetal Nuchal Translucency and other soft markers. Since 1993 he performs more than 2,000 procedures of Assisted Reproduction Techniques each year, employing some of the most advanced laboratory techniques. Due to the achievements in prevention and diagnosis of thalassemias, the Microcitemico Hospital of Cagliari has been nominated by the World Health Organization as a WHO REFERRAL COLLABORATIVE CENTRE for Community Control of Hereditary Diseases.
