Dr. Wirsiy Frankline Sevidzem has over six years of professional experience working with international and national organizations. He is currently a Quality Assurance Corp for the HIV Rapid Test Quality Improvement Initiative (Program sponsored by PEPFAR) at Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) in Cameroon. Frankline is also a Ph.D. candidate (Pending Dissertation of Thesis) in Public Health of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Buea. He is a part-time lecturer of Public Health at Saint Louis University Institute of Health and Biomedical Sciences in Douala. Equally, Frankline has worked as a Community Mobilization Coordinator for the nationwide Cameroon Population Based HIV Impact Assessment (CAMPHIA) survey at ICAP in Cameroon. At ICAP he led community mobilization activities, managed and coordinated over 150 Community Mobilizers (Trained Health workers). He is a Public health Epidemiologist who has an advanced contemporary training in epidemiology, control of infectious diseases and health systems strengthening. He now operates as a researcher with particular interest but not limited to adolescent Sexual and reproductive health, Monitoring and Evaluation, HIV, Antimicrobial Resistance, Malaria, Ebola and Neglected Tropical Diseases. Previously, he was an intern as assistant monitoring and evaluation officer at Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Cameroon for the ‘HIV free Centre region’ project. At CHAI, he contributed in the oversight of data collection, monitoring and evaluation. He has been field epidemiologist for FAIRMED Cameroon where he carried out his funded M.Sc. research on Ebola in the East region of Cameroon among the Baka’s (Pygmies). Moreover, he was Health Resource Person for the University of Buea American Space, a position he held for four years. He remains a leader and health Promoter who is passionate about networking and organizing measures to prevent disease and promote health thus prolonging life among the population as a whole. This is seen in his engagements with institutions like the Cameroon Society of Epidemiology where he is a member and had acted as the assistant communication officer. Frankline has worked in the Kumba Health District service with a scope aimed at contributing in strengthening its health systems. In addition, he has been part of a yearly community health project called Wirnso Give Back, where he acts as an assistant project Coordinator. Few years back, he was the co-founder and environmental health project coordinator for a common initiative group called Health Education Outreach; during which he use to initiate health education outreach programs and lead sensitisation campaigns; participating in community-based programs aimed at promoting health awareness and community development. Frankline has a strong passion and commitment in promoting women and children health with the ability to write high quality and needs assessment reports and papers. This is seen in his scientific publications in International peer-review journals. He remains a good team player, flexible, network-builder and able to handle pressure well. His greatest philosophical paradigm is “Service to humanity being the best work of life”.
