Dr. Sachin Kumar working as National Post Doctoral Fellow and Project Investigator at Entomology Laboratory, Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, India, funded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The project aims to monitor of acaricide resistance in tick populations collected from different districts of Haryana by Adult Immersion Test, Larval Packet Test, Larval Immersion Test, Biochemical and Molecular bioassay mechanism of resistance and development Herbal acaricides. The following significant findings in the project have been generated and the data will be helpful to formulate sustainable tick control strategy in the state.
The major area of Dr. Sachin Kumar research was based on detection of chemical acricides resistance in Cattle tick R. microplus and H. anatolicum. I got an expertise in rearing of disease free of tick strain, Pest Management and vector control, development of resistance monitoring tools, large scale samples collection from different states of India, characterization of resistance in ticks, Statistical analysis, Graphpad prism software, safety analysis, biochemical tests, In vitro and In-vivo testing and handling of large and small animals. I have also worked as a Senior Research Fellow in World Bank Funded National Agricultural Innovation Project based on the development of chemical acricides resistance in cattle tick and development of ecofriendly phyto-acaricides for the control of tick infestation.
