Dr. Bekir DEMIRTAS is a Assoc. Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at University of Hatay Mustafa Kemal, Turkey. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics at Cumhuriyet University, Turkey and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics at Cukuroval University, Adana Turkey. He earned Ph.D. in Agricultural Business at Cukurova University, Adana Turkey. He worked as a researcher in Turkey between the years of 1966-2008 the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. After 2008, he started to work in Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Agricultural Economics Department. He worked as a researcher and assistant researcher on the consumption of agricultural products as food. He continues his researches and education in the field of agriculture and food economics.

Dr. Bekir Demirtas is interested fields of research are Food Economics, Consumer Behavior and Preferences. He carries out studies on consumption of organic products, consumer awareness and consumer behavior
