Dr. Gamal Ammar is an Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at SRTA-City, Egypt, and recently also as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biotechnolog, Plant Transformation Facility, Cornell University, USA. His professional career started in 2006 by working for prestigious organizations like FAO and Monsanto. Thenceforth, he began his academic progress with a M.Sc. followed by a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. He succeeded to establish a complete integrated Plant Biotechnology Unit at his organization, where he is the research team leader of a distinguished group of junior scientists. After years of highly skillful experiences in research, teaching and administration, his ambitions aim to go beyond research into developing and applying novel technologies to access, and achieve sustainability. He is experienced with a demonstrated history of working in the biotechnology industry. Skilled in CRISPR, Plant Tissue Culture and Transformation, Environmental Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Microbial Genetics. Recently, he also has different activities to utilize the wide Biotechnology umbrella in order to study Plant Stress Signalling and QTLs related to serious climatic problems under a global warming scenario
His researches focous on Plant Biotechnology employment in different fields and scopes, believing that countries have to launch its development via Agriculture, mainly utilizing plant systems for environmental aspects like; bioremediation of heavy metals, and plant microbe interaction; medical ones like, producing edible vaccines besides secondary metabolites, and even manipulation of plants in industry to produce new products, leading to offer new solutions in a globe that faces climate changes, poverty, hunger, and renewable resources insecurity for reaching sustainable development
