Dr. Adnan Khan is serving as Assistant Professor in Department of Geology, University of Karachi, Pakistan. He is a well-known academician serving University of Karachi since last 13 years. Dr. Khan is rendering his services in the fields of teaching research and consultancy related to Geology. He is embarked with 22 research publications and one book. A dozen of M.Sc. students are at his disposal for research work on groundwater and industrial rocks and minerals. Currently he is supervising about 6 M. Phil students working on various aspects of environmental and economic geology. Dr. Khan is credited to first time explain the arsenic contamination sources and mechanisms from Indus delta and earned his PhD on the same. He has worked on the groundwater quality pattern of Karachi (largest city of Pakistan) in detail. He has worked on several projects associated with his supervisor and funded by Pakistan Science Foundation, Higher Education Commission and World Bank. He has organized 2 international conferences and dozens of symposia, seminars and workshops. He launched an international journal of Economic and Environmental Geology (IJEEG) in 2010 which is the sole journal from Pakistan addressing the economic and environmental aspects of Geology. He is serving as Managing Editor of IJEEG and associated as Member of online journals. Moreover, he has also served as Manager Publications in an internationally known organization entitled Bentham Science Publishers which is a leading publisher of health sciences.
Dr. Adnan Khan's research interests include Groundwater arsenic contamination, hydro-geochemistry, sediment geochemistry, deltaic and coastal groundwater, environmental geology, industrial rocks and minerals, soil mechanics, engineering geology.
