Dr. Hyat Mahmud is an Additional Deputy Director (Crop) in Department of Agricultural Extension (Bangladesh Civil Service: Agriculture cadre), of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh since April 25, 1994. Dr. Mahmud graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh and obtained his Master of Science degree in Plant Pathology in the Department of Plant Pathology, Bangladesh Agricultural University. He achieved his Doctor of Philosophy degree (Research field, Biological control, Seed pathology and molecular plant pathology) in 2016 from BAU. He has published more than 24 papers in reputed national and international journals that have been cited over 24 times, and his publication H-index is remarkable. He has been serving as a reviewer of reputed many international Journals. In addition to this, he received a good number of professional trainings in-country and overseas to enhance professional, research and administrative competence for the Department of Agricultural Extension, and project development for sustainable agriculture, development project work, and also have excellent inter-personal and research skills developed over the last twenty four years. He is working on Bipolaris oryzae for sequencing gene in observing variation over the years with Dr. M. Delwar Hossain, BAU, Mymensing.
