Dr Mitesh Kumar Dwivedi gained PhD (2013) from The M.S. University of Baroda, India, a top-ten placed Indian university; M.Sc. (Microbiology) from University of Mysore, Karnataka; Employed as a Senior Research Fellow at the M.S. University of Baroda (2011); Gained All India rank of 32/1232 in Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Eligibility Test (CSIR-NET) (Life Sciences) for lectureship in 2011; Appointed as Assistant Professor (2014), C.G. Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology, Uka Tarsadia University, India.
Dr. Dwivedi is the author of 34 peer-reviewed articles (12 as first author), many in high impact factor journals, and several being highly cited as they reported significant discoveries in the field. The quality of his research has been evident by his h-index=15. He has also contributed highly cited reviews and book chapters as well.
Dr. Dwivedi is Principal Investigator on DST-SERB and GUJCOST funded projects. Dr. Dwivedi is currently supervising one Ph.D student and has supervised 33 Master’s (M.Sc.) students for their project work.
Dr. Dwivedi is recipient of national and international awards including Early Career Research Award (2017) from DST-SERB, New Delhi; Young Scientist Award from HGM ICG-2013 Conference, Singapore; the HUGO Young Scientist Travel Award from Human Genome Meeting-2011, Dubai and the Best Poster Award from International Symposium on “Molecular medicine†(MOLMED-2011), India. He has also received the Highest Impact Factor Publication Award in the years 2011, 2012 & 2013 from The M. S. University of Baroda, India.
He has served as a Guest Associate Editor of ‘Frontiers in Genetics’ and as a Lead Guest Editor of Journal of Immunology Research. He is serving as the Editorial Board Member of ‘Journal of Pharmacy and Applied Sciences (JPAS)’ and ‘Biotechnological Research’. He has been an Invited Reviewer of reputed International Journals: ‘British Journal of Dermatology’; ‘Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology’; ‘Dermatology Research and Practice’; ‘International Journal of Genetics’; ‘Immunology Letters’ and ‘Rheumatology International’. He served as Joint Organizing Secretary and Convener in organizing international conferences (2017, 2014) at Uka Tarsadia University, India.
Dr. Dwivedi’s research has focused for over 10 years on the aetiology and pathogenesis of vitiligo- a skin depigmenting disorder, with particular reference to the autoimmune, and genetic basis of Vitiligo. In addition, his expertise in immunogenetics has led him to explore the immunogenetic basis of other autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis and Thyroidism as well. His current research interests also include investigation of the role of beneficial microbes-Probiotics in amelioration of autoimmune conditions and investigation of bioactive compounds of microbes for medical use.
