Prof . Dr. Igor A. Kryvoruchko graduated from Kharkov Medical University (Ukraine) in 1983 with a degree in medicine. From 1983 to 2004 I worked at the” Institute of General and Emergency Surgery” (Kharkov, Ukraine) as a research assistant and since 2000 as deputy director for science. Since 2004 I’m working as the head of Department of Surgery № 2 of Kharkov National Medical University (Ukraine). I securing Ph.D. in surgery from ” Institute of General and Emergency Surgery” in 1989. I defended my thesis for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1997. I received the academic title of professor at the Kharkov National Medical University in 2002. I’ve authored more than 750 research publications in peer-reviewed National and International journals. I’ve edited/authored 32 books and textbooks for students. Prof. (Dr.) I.A. Kryvoruchko serves as Editorial board member for 7 National journals and reviewer for many National journals. In 2009 I’ve received the State Prize of Ukraine for research in pancreatic surgery.

Prof . Dr. Igor A. Kryvoruchko research interest are in the field of surgery of the organs of the chest and abdomen, cardiovascular and endocrine surgery and concern studies of the pathophysiology of various surgical diseases, early diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.
