Dr. Mazen Almehmadi, Professor of human immunity, Taif University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is an honorary research fellow of university of Liverpool United Kingdom, member of British society of Immunology. He has a bachelor’s in medical sciences from Umm Al-qura university, master and PhD in human immunity from Liverpool university the UK. He has many published original articles in the field of human immunity in well-known journals like Immunology, Cytokine and Transplant infectious disease. He supervised and trained more than 20 students with their graduation thesis. He is a former deputy of clinical laboratory science department and awarded several local prizes for his development work in academic education. He has been teaching clinical immunity, clinical microbiology, and infection control for more than 10 years. Regarding his technical expertise Dr Mazen has well known expertise in tissue culture, flow-cytometry, cells sorting by FACs aria, microarray, RT-PCR, PCR and ELISA. He has two training certificates for operating FACs-Aria IIIa sorter from BD-Belgium and Dubai. Dr Mazen currently is leading two teams of research in the field of HPV and cervical cancer, and the effect of high-altitude on human immune system. He is also a participant in other research projects that study the infection of kidney transplant patients, stem cells, development of cancer immunotherapy and type-1-diabetes.
Dr. Mazen Almehmadi research interests are infection immunology including the study of T-cells, NK cells, kidney transplant infection. Cancer research including study of HPV-related cancers and the effects of human immune system. High-altitude research including their effect of immune-response.
